With a profound legal career as a King’s Counsel (KC) and founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, she brings unparalleled expertise in human rights and women’s economic empowerment. Her leadership and global influence have significantly contributed to raising awareness of the discrimination and hardships faced by widows, particularly in developing countries.
Cherie Blair has been an integral part of the Foundation’s journey, championing initiatives that provide widows with education, skills, and a platform to be heard on the global stage. She was instrumental in the international advocacy efforts that led to the United Nations officially recognising International Widows Day on 23 June.
